Medellín, no better place to start

I start my South American journey in Medellín, Colombia. It was a series of fortuitous events that led me to this place, and I'm very grateful that it unfolded in this way. Medellín is an incredible, vibrant, loud and colorful place which is bustling with life. It gives you energy. It's young and cheerful. That's how I would describe it. I was amazed by its greenery, great weather all year round and very friendly people. I read somewhere that Colombia was the easiest place to buy a motorbike as a foreigner in South America. I then spread the word looking for any Colombian friends of friends or contacts I could reach out to if help was needed. Through that call out I ended up with friends I haven't met yet all over Colombia and decided to start my journey in Medellín. It was a good call as this place has plenty of motorbike dealerships, workshops and stores with gear. Highly recommended path for anyone trying to do the same.
